Italian License Plates
Italy fist issued license plates in 1903 and through 1095, the full name of the provinces and a maximum three digit number was painted in black on a white license plate. From 1905 through 1927, Italian license plates was an oblong metal with a issuing proving number embossed in red and the number in black. For example, a license plate which begins with the red number 53 was issued in the Roma province whereas a license plate beginning with red number 63 was issued in Torino.
It should be noted the font style of Roma was different from the font style of Torino. Licenseplates.tv can make these plates with the varied fronts from different Italian provinces.

The reason used or old Italian license plates are non-existent is the issuing body retrieves these when the vehicle is exported or totaled. Collectors showing their Italian cars at car shows or museums source their replica Italian license plates from Licenseplates.tv
Many American collectors of Italian cars have been known to purchase Ferraris and Alfa Romeos used in testing. Test or PROVA license plates are very distinct and were used by Italian car manufacturers to test their cars without officially registering these cars. PROVA is usually painted in red and other numbers white. Only Licenseplatess.tv offers PROVA license plates in the correct size and letter/number fonts –some internet merchants use current rear Italian license plates with German fonts and sell as official PROVA license plates. This only confuses customers not knowledgeable about the authentic PROVA license plates.
